Introduction

About me: Hi!I am Ismail and I am currently completing my Ph.D in Mathematics at Caltech. I have been tutoring students for more than 10 years. I have a strong background in pure mathematics but I also understand physics if you need help with that (double-major in mathematics and physics). I really like to help and always enjoy it when I can effectively explain mathematical concepts that appear complicated a priori. My teaching style: My very down to earth way of explaining mathematics makes everything clear and concise. I have tutored students who went from hating mathematics courses to performing very well in exams. My grasp of Probability, Linear Algebra and Calculus is very strong since I have been teaching these courses regularly since 2015. I have an iPad and an Apple pen! So we can definitely do online tutoring and I have an effective way of doing that so I am sure you will enjoy that experience if you choose online tutoring. I look forward to working with you! What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer a 50 % discount on the first session.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Usually, with new customers I offer a discount for first session to set up the rhythm and teaching style that is appropriate for the course and goals we are trying to achieve. After the first session, I always make sure to get a feedback from the customer.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a double-major bachelor degree from University of Montreal in Mathematics and Physics. I also have a Masters degree from University of Montreal and I am currently a fifth year Ph.D student at Caltech in Mathematics.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

In 2015, my last year of my undergraduate program, I realized that I really enjoy teaching mathematics and help explain those mathematical concepts that are hard to grasp. So I decided to provide my tutoring services to high-school students and the experience was very enjoyable. I have been tutoring mathematics since then!

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with a variety of customers. I tutored students from high-school level mathematics up to college and university level mathematics courses.
